Presentation Title
“Impact of
Sex-Specific Cutoffs on Reducing Missed Advanced Fibrosis in Women with MASLD”
In her session, Dr. Joo will discuss
the critical importance of applying sex-specific diagnostic criteria in
detecting advanced liver fibrosis. Her research emphasizes that traditional
cutoff values often underestimate disease severity in women, potentially
delaying intervention. By advocating for tailored thresholds, Dr. Joo’s
findings could transform how MASLD is diagnosed and managed globally —
fostering a more equitable approach to liver health.
- Recipient of the Korean Association for the Study of
the Liver (KASL) Research Excellence Award
- Honored with the Seoul National University Academic
Achievement Award for outstanding contributions to gastroenterology
research
- Recognized among the Top 100 Global Researchers in
Hepatology by the Asia-Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver
(APASL)
- Invited speaker at numerous international conferences,
including EASL, AASLD, and APDW
